| Privacy Notice Reminder for “Small” Health Plans due by April 14, 2007 |
|
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires a health plan to notify participants every three years of privacy practices, as well as how to obtain a copy of the actual Notice of Privacy Practices. April 14, 2007 is the three-year anniversary of the compliance date for so-called small health plans. (Small health plans are those medical, dental, flexible spending, or retirement plans that have no more than $5 million in annual receipts.)
