Employee Cannot Be Terminated For Reporting Workplace Violence to Police
Employers have a duty to provide a safe, secure workplace and to encourage employees to report threats of violence in the workplace.  As such, terminating an employee for reporting workplace violence to the police violates public policy and gives rise to a claim of wrongful termination in violation of public policy.  See Franklin v. The Monadnock Co. (2007) 151 Cal. App. 4th 252
