According to numerous training experts, training programs need to include the following elements in order to be effective:
1. some type of needs assessment to determine what training is needed 2. learning objectives to help design the training 3. development of the training material to include what needs to be presented to accomplish the objectives 4. an implementation plan that addresses things like the budget, timing, and logistics of the training program 5. evaluating the training including the reaction of the participants to the training, what they learned, whether their behavior changed as a result of the training, and whether the training impacted the organization's bottom line
