Organizational Communication Survey

Communication is a vital process in every organization. People at work spend a great deal of time communicating with each other in meetings, over the phone, via email, etc. When communication flows accurately and effectively, the organization will run smoothly. However, if there is a breakdown in the flow of communication, the organization is likely to encounter performance problems.

One way to determine the effectiveness of the communication in your organization is through an Organizational Communication Survey. The survey examines employee opinions about the effectiveness of internal communication. The results of the survey are used to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your organization’s communication and develop strategies to strengthen the weak areas.

The survey measures the following:

Communication Flow: the effectiveness of the communication flow in and around the organization (upward, downward, and horizontal)

Coordination/Knowledge Sharing: the extent to which important information is shared by employees, departments, etc.

Communication Barriers: the aspects of the work environment that prevent the effective flow of communication

Accuracy: the extent to which shared information is detailed and accurate

Reliability: the extent to which shared information is reliable and consistent

Timeliness: the extent to which shared information is received in a timely manner

Media Effectiveness: the effectiveness of various media used to communicate important organizational news and day-to-day information.

Interaction Frequency: the extent to which employees receive communications about various topics, and use particular media to communication on a daily basis.

We can distribute the survey to your employees, compile the results, and suggest strategies on how to improve the communication at your organization. The entire process should take 5 – 6 hours (depending upon the size of your organization), which can be deducted from your 18 hours of service or billed at our hourly rate.
